19th May - Well done to the D team of Phil Walton, Phil Arliss and Tim Bruce for winning the Rotherham League Cup competition to complete a league and cup double. The Saturday sessions at Thrybergh are to be combined over the summer month into one session from 12:30 to 14:30. Club Details updated.

5th May - Well done to Malcolm Manuel and Mark Johnson for winning the groups at the Supa8s, Jamie Hudd and Keiran Manuel finished second and Richard Element and Dave Grayson third, Mark and Tom Lawton won the mini doubles competition. Well done to all the players who competed. Congratulations to the D team of Phil Walton, Phil Arliss, Tim Bruce and Barry Tasker for winning Division 2 in Rotherham and to the F team of Pete Smith, Tom Bolland, Ellie Long, Bradley Wood, Stuart Foers and Malcolm Manual for winning Division 3. The D team have also reached the cup final after defeating the all-conquering JSM B in the semi-final.

28th April - Congratulations to the Sheffield B team for winning Division 3 and the Middle Section Cup, an excellent year for the team captained by Vincent Loh with players Jamie Hudd, Phil Arliss, Stephen Arliss and James Grayson. Good performances from Richard Element and Bradley Wood in the National Schools Championships at Doncaster, both just failed to qualify for the final stages.

12th April - Local League and Junior pages updated. Well done to Ellie Long on coming runner-up at the recent Stiga 2* at Halifax.

28th March Congratulations to the Cadet A team of Tom Bolland, Bradley Wood and Lewis Robinson on winning Division One of the National Cadet League in Bradford. Well done to the B Team of Scott Preece, Tom Simcock, Alex Pitcher and Tom Lawton on coming third in Division Two.

27th March - Good look to the Cadet Players playing tomorrow at Bradford and the South Yorkshire County players playing at Draycott. Coaching, Local League and Junior pages updated. 16th March - British League team do well at Hartlepool with 2 wins 8-0 and 7-1, a draw and a narrow 5-3 defeat to the league winners Ormesby. Star player was Lance Webster, but Richard Element, Jamie Hudd and Mark Johnson also picked up important wins.

12th March - Well done to Richard Element who became the Sheffield Works Singles Champion on Sunday. Local League Page updated, including league Tables. Good luck to the Senior British League team playing at Hartlepool this weekend and to the players who are playing in the Derby Junior 4*.

6th March - congratulations to Tom Bolland for getting selected for the Derbyshire U13 cricket team. Commiserations to the family of Roger Hardwick who played for our rivals Employment in Sheffield Division 3, who died playing at Vulcan last night.

14th February - Junior British league team win one match out of five and finish 5th in their division. Lottery page updated.

7th February - Well done to the National Cadet League team of Tom Bolland, Bradley Wood and Lewis Robinson who win 3 out of 3 and still lead Division One. Local League page updated.

23rd January - The South Yorkshire Schools is on Sunday 7th February at Wisewood School Sheffield. Click here for an entry form, closing date 29th January.The British League team battle hard at Widnes and come away with a good draw against 3rd place Northfield and but disappointing 5-3 defeat to Smithswood Bribar. The D and F teams both draw in the Rotherham league to loose their 100% records and the Sheffield B team of Vincent Loh, Phil Arliss and Jamie Hudd are through to the semi-final of the Middle section cup.

2nd January - A most enjoyable 10-pin bowling night was held on 18th December. Thanks to Lesley Hudd and Phil Richardson for organising it and congratulations to Mark Lawton for getting the highest score. The Supa8s held on 30th December was a great success and thanks to everyone who took part. There was a lot of good table tennis played and this will only be beneficial to everyone. A full report and pictures will be in the next edition of The Scorpion. 5th November - South Yorkshire County Trials will be held on 21st November 2009 at Abbeydale TTC. Cost £2. Juniors 1pm to 3pm (Must be born after 1991). Cadets 3pm - 5pm (Must be born after 1994). Good luck to the players playing in the 1* at Scarborough this weekend.

23rd October - Well done to the 6 National Cadet League players (Tom Bolland, Bradley Wood, Lewis Robinson, Kevin Ngan, Scott Preece and Tom Lawton) who played last weekend at Bradford. The A team won 3 out of 3 and the B team won both their matches. Results on the Junior League Page. Local League page also updated. 6th October is a busy month and sees the Senior British League at Widnes this weekend (10th & 11th). The following Sunday is the first round of the National Cadet League at Bradford and the 24th & 25th sees weekend one of the Junior British League at Stoke. Good luck to all teams.
